Direct Carbon Ceramic to Iron Brake Conversion

The Girodisc A1-322 kit is engineered specifically for BMW models equipped with factory Carbon Ceramic Brakes (gold calipers).

The system bolts directly in place of the original carbon ceramic discs while continuing to use the factory calipers. Girodisc recommends using iron-spec brake pads designed for the OEM carbon ceramic calipers to ensure optimum braking performance and pad compatibility.

Lightweight Two-Piece Motorsport Construction

Each rotor features a precision CNC-machined 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminium centre hat combined with Girodisc's proprietary high-carbon cast iron friction ring.

This lightweight two-piece construction reduces unsprung weight while delivering exceptional thermal stability under repeated heavy braking. The fully floating design allows the rotor ring to expand independently during heat cycles, reducing thermal stress and maintaining consistent pedal feel.

Serviceable Design for Lower Running Costs

Unlike factory carbon ceramic discs, Girodisc's modular design allows the cast iron friction rings to be replaced independently once worn.

Replacement rings (Girodisc D1-220) can be fitted to the existing aluminium hats, significantly reducing future servicing costs while retaining the performance benefits of the complete rotor assembly. Girodisc recommends replacing the friction rings when they reach a minimum thickness of 34mm or if any crack extends to the outer edge of the rotor.
